Temps had been low all week so first tracks were perfect. A nice soft coating on hardpack. Everything stayed good and the mountain was 100% open. By about lunchtime the crowd started to pick up and by 2pm it was getting dangerously crowded. All the never evers were making their way up the quad and gathering atop the "Alley Cat Couloir" per usual. The double chair was getting stopped every 2 minutes and we decided to call it.
Drove up to gatlinburg that afternoon to a chalet, did a tour of Ole Smoky Moonshine thanks to a friend who works with them, and got a free jar of "Blue Flame" - a 128 proof moonshine. yee haw.
