Still working the ghoul shift i.e. 12 hours over night at the hospital. Nope, I'm not a nurse or MD, but an IT monkey.

I get off Wednesday morning, so plans are to hit Beech Thursday. Looks like weather and temperatures will make it interesting.

I'm leaving Asheville at 7am; if you want a ride, I have a rack and one heated seat in an Audi TT Quattro Coupe.

And if you are there, Look for a dude with a gray beard, strange Koflach boots (Sweden) and Dynamic VR skis. Still using my old Scott Racing poles too - no spike, just a disc the size of a $.050 piece in hard aluminum at the bottom. I'll be in my green Patagucci jacket, and circa 1980 Patagonia, gucci ski pants in gray.

Yeeeeeeeha!

Oh, I have my old VR27's for when I want to ski "retro" or crap. The new VR's are shaped skis.

Picked up on eBay for all of $90, un-drilled. The story: Dynamic was thinking about returning to the US market. They "skinned" some skis (all Atomic) to see if there was any interest.

So, what I have now are really Atomics.

Ack. TT needs an H02 pump. Oh well. Got a used good one for $40... but it won't be done in time.

I could drive our old Westy up, a primo ski and apres party bus... but life is short and the bus is slow.

Maybe next week; given the cold blast coming in, it should be good next week.

Sigh. Sounds like my kind of skiing. Nephew and I were skiing Beech at 4F recently.

Mind you, I spent 12 years in Antarctica. Saw -120 at the Pole...

But 50 mph wind? Nope. I like to ski, not sail.

Woke up at 3:30pm (no, I'm not a 19 year old, just a old codger working nights) and saw the driveway covered in ice.

Oh boy...

TT Quattro Coupe, the ultimate snow buggy, is still in the shop getting it's scheduled service.

It'll be the Westy. I'm off as of Wednesday morning. If I can adjust my sleep, I WILL be skiing Beech Thursday.

Hopefully it's snowing there.

If the Audi is not back, I'll get up early and just drive the VW. It'll be slower, but it has a good radio and the heater works.
