The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

I agree on the price, but you want 60$ worth of fun on these days you gotta find it or create it yourself.

Go in Tindy.

So when you're throwing out your little 'no one forced you to buy tickets', that's really cute, especially to iheartsnow who looks like lives on Beech. But when you live in Charlotte, do your research to the best of your ability to gauge the worth of the trip, then leave at 5:30 in the morning to make a trip, you don't think there's any pressure when you finally get up to the ticket booth and find out not only are the conditions are worse but it's full price? May be a little easier for the guy that lives on the mountain to turn heel and say I'm going home.

Some of the people here either have their heads plunged up their arses or their hands in Beech's pocket. To sum it up, this is the proper place for people to give an accurate report of their trip, hence the name trip report. If it's not all smiles and jingle bells kindly leave and find another thread.

fair question: did Beech say lifties were 20/30? If "yes" I agree and call BS on Beech.... if "no" I say tuff Christmas cookies.... you live in the SE... face reality, pay the man and be glad they ARE IN BUSINESS.

Would the 60 buck tic make me happy.... nope.... does the snow.... yep.

I had heard $20-$30, once I heard of the similarities between the week before I kindly assumed they would charge the same price and felt confident not checking. If someone could chime in I think it could have been lower on Friday. Regardless my main point was why double the price the following week when it's the same amount of runs and guns at 100% trying to cover the slop? In a lighter note I heard Sunday folks got their money worth.

Just a note, I'm not really fighting for myself, trust me I get my money's worth up there. I have listened to quite a few with the same emotions and I'm wanting to stand behind their sympathies.

I can't tell if that was a jab at me or not. I was just agreeing with Enton's statement. Not sure what you were trying to get at there.

since we're all real happy this morning i'll throw in some more joy... this sunday had alot better conditions than last sunday. bluebird day with some sweet rollers from those terrible guns blowing out that white stuff. i agree the $60 ticket may be a little high for that much terrain open, but when you pay the property taxes you can charge what you want. i'm just happy to have a place to ride.

First off, this is a trail report section, so do you think it's possible for someone to have a negative trip report? God forbid!! Secondly, what was specifically the matter this time with Beech is them opening up 2 weekends in a row, and the first Saturday was half the price and better ski, and with worsened conditions all around they double the price the next week.

I agree with everyone that the 60 bucks was a bit much, but as stated on the front page, these resorts are in it for the money, and are not providing a public service. No sour grapes here, but Beech's website clearly states that the 20/30 isn't in effect on weekends, but that is where they screwed up last weekend by allowing those prices to be in effect. All the resorts can change their pricing at a moments notice, and it can be hard for those that travel up the mountain without ample time to do research. But with the weather the way it has been and looks like it will be, they have to get their money when they can, even if it means emptying customers pockets at the ticket window. And MillerPKA, where are your smiles and jingle bells??
