The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Today was interesting. I broke one of my old aluminum poles last night so I got out to alpine at 8:30am and scored a pair of k2 4 speeds for 50 bucks. I like the lightweight nature, flexibility and thinness of these fiberglass poles. Got a text from Brian (musicmoves) that he was only 20 mins out from beech and he ended up beating me there. They cut them down to size for me in about 15 mins and we got out on the slopes by 9:15. It was cloudy and breezy today, and the snow was hardpack groomers with sand like loose snow on top. The park got downgraded since thursday night. The corrugated pipe was gone, so was the down rail and up box from the upper park. They added a small gap in the middle of the upper park, and then changed the down rail near the beach ball to an up flat down box. Beech ball was gone, but the hip is still there. the first hit has a bad shaped step up, but if you skip the step and ride up the side it kicks you up pretty well. the last jump is unchanged, but the landing is a lot softer during the day. We left at 1 and a light rain was falling

Jenna earned a battle scar on the rocky slope edges:

See some snowmaking temps in the forecast, and some guns were out there and hooked up so we will see if they make some. Some spots could use some. Still great coverage considering the weather.

I actually took the family for a Sunday drive instead of skiing. We went by all three places today.

App wasnt very crowded at all, Sugar looked bad. Beech didnt look bad at all, but couldnt really tell. It was drizzling when we drove by around 1:45. Wife had never even seen a ski slope other than Sugar in the summer. She said she is ready to learn.
