The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

#1 daughter and myself joined a 10 day mission trip to the Yucutan, to a small town on the gulf coast to build a parsonage. We lived with the locals, worked in the mornings, played in the evenings, and spoke very bad Spanish. They have an wonderful culture and amazing spirit, I'd go back again and again. Too many stories to tell, so just random pics.

The local culture is just enough socially conservative that bikinis are unseen en la playa; otoh, we found soldier police in full camos and automatic rifles, grilling chicken under the trellises. Adds to the atmosphere.

If we could get some snow blowers on top of those buildings at Uxmal, we could have some pretty serious runs.

great story Killer, thanks! You need to post some pictures and we need to hook up on a few lift rides to exchange stories. The food was great and we've been cooking a lot more Mexican since we returned. Sabancuy had pretty good electricity, and a little tienda on almost every block. Great lessons in how much we don't really need.

Nice, really nice. Good on you for taking your daughter for an experience that will have a profound impact on her. And doing that together with your daughter is quite a testamony in itself. Thanks for the pics and post.
