After a few more inches of new snow overnight on top of the what we had received the last few days I was excited to see how much untracked was left at Canaan after skiing Timberline the last two days. I was on the snow by 9am and realized, again, the true magic of Canaan, there were maybe seven cars in the parking lot. I saw only ski patrol on the lift rides up. For the first time ever I didn't feel rushed on a powder day. I actually took a warm-up run on an easy groomed run. I have never done that on a powder day. The trees still need a little more snow but the open areas had good coverage everywhere. Unfortunately there were almost no moguls, but with so little skier traffic that is expected. [YT][/YT]

that' s so awesome! I would normally say I can't believe there is that much untracked left except for the fact that I have been there.
I really enjoyed my trip there last year even with them only being 25% open it was great. I may never go to Snowshoe again to be honest. I do wonder with the new lodge and all the other renovations being finished in time for next season (and maybe a new marketing push to go along with that) if the mostly vacant slopes at Canaan will stay that way.
Please delete this video and if anyone asks you about CV just say "Yeah, I will there once and won't make that mistake again"
